We have a new to us, 2005 Aspect 26A and the slide out awning is showing its age. It appears that the previous owner has coated the awning with a white paint or roof coating. Will rubber roof coating work on the awning or will the constant rolling and unrolling stretch it and make it crack or peal. Just trying to get a year or two out of the old awning as we don't need another expense at this time.

I stretched the life of my slide out toppers for about two years. They get used heavily in the desert so at four/five years they delaminate. I discovered white duct tape, they were white so it worked fine. Of course eventually you wind up with so much to patch that it is time to replace. But I stretched it two years and it was almost unnoticeable.

Not likely ...that's just the cheap fabric many mfg'ers use. I've seen similar stuff flying all over RV parks on windy days. I replaced my slide topper awnings with a cheap fabric severay years ago, and again with a vinyl fabric a year ago because my patio awning and window awning are vinyl fabric and they still look great after nearly 9 years of use. I took the fabric off and took them to a local awning/boat cover shop. They sewed the new fabric to size and put the rubber piping in each end needed to attach the fabric.
