Hope someone can help with suggestions for my slide retraction problem.
The slide on my 04 Journey contains the sleeper sofa and also the kitchen. When retracting, the slide slows down and then comes to a stop as the bottom part of the slide over the sofa appears to dip down towards the floor. Then the slide will not retract anymore but I can hear the retraction motor still turning. Then I must reverse direction and extend the slide back out just slightly. After this I can fully retract the slide. The slide extends normally with no slow down. This process is repeatable every time. I am not running the motor but connected to shore power and my batteries stay above 12.7V. I have thoroughly checked the space under the slide from both inside and outside and there is no obstruction. The black plastic boot appears to slide over the carpet normally. Presently the sofa has been removed from the slide while I am replacing the carpet with allure flooring.

I am thinking that my slide might need an adjustment but do not know how to do this.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem on my 05 Horizon. When the slide came up the ramp, the front edge of the slide bottom was hitting the floor tile edge in the kitchen. There was a triangular piece of wood next to the tile. Over time, this wood had worn and splintered. I cleaned up the wood and adjusted that end of the slide upward about 1/8 inch.

I suggest you move your slide in slowly checking all along that front edge to see if it is hitting anything. If so, you may need to adjust the slide upwards on that end.

lk23,
Thanks for your comment.
There are rollers under the kitchen part of the slide and this section appears to move correctly, and there is a black plastic boot (about 3" wide by 8' long) under the sofa section of the slide. In the fully extended position the boot rides up onto a wooden ramp also about 3" wide and 8' long and this appears to lift the slide slightly. When coming down off the ramp the sofa section of the slide appears to dip down as if it were caught on something underneath or rubbing the floor ( but I have been able to verify that there are no objects stuck between the carpet and the boot).
Following your suggetion, I will try to raise that end of the slide but how do I do this?

Jim,

I would not raise anything until you verify where it is hitting. You could create even more problems. I used a slide-out adjustment PDF file. As I recall, one of the Winnie reps sent it to me.
