Slide Topper Repair

I have a 4 or 5 inch horizontal tear in the fabric at the begining edge on my slide topper, was looking at using Eternabond Tape or Flex Tape for the repair. Having never used either of these products can someone give me their opinion on them or another product to use. Thank you

There is an awning repair tape that you can get at any supplier like PPL, Camping World or Alpin Haus. We have used it. The tape lasted a couple of years until our awning fabric gave out in the wind.

I've use 2" white Eternabond Tape around the tear on both sides of the fabric, held up for a at least 4 yrs.

If you're talking about the clear tape, I bought some at Wal-Mart put it on earlier this year and it's already coming off.

I put the clear tape on my awning topper from C/W and that was 10 years ago and its still holding up well .

The awning repair tape seems to work, but it's a bit pricey. I've also had good luck with gaffers tape. It's like duct tape but considerably thicker and stronger. Whatever you use be sure you clean the surface thoroughly before applying.

I replaced my long slide topper for I think, $110.00. It took me about 2 hours with some help to do the job. It's not that hard, and looks a lot better than tape. Eddie Elk.

I also had a tear in my slide topper.
I needed to have my awning replaced so I also had the topper replaced.
Both had been in service for 20 years so I figured that it was time to avoid problems. Both were beginning to show signs of decomposition.
Both awning and topper replaced .. cost me about $900 total.
