I have decided that our 2002 Adventurer 32V was made on a Monday or Fri.

We bought it used, with 19k miles on it. And of course the factory warranty was up. In short order we discovered that the wiring from the entertainment center was improperly installed, the TV, VRC, etc, was trying to run off of the chassis battery, not the house battery. And when plugged into shore power the house batteries were boiled dry in no time. Ruined two chassis batteries and two house batteries before we discovered the problem, and it cost us $1500 to get it fixed (they finally just installed a new wiring harness, not knowing what else was messed up with the original).

Then the first time it rained we found a wet carpet next to the front side of the bed. Looked outside and found that the bottom three feet or so of the front slide seal was not touching the side of the slide at all, it was flat against the side of the vehicle, allowing water to funnel right in. Cost more to have the seal replaced. A year went by, then discovered that the rear seal on the bedroom slide was not touching the side of the slide, creating the same problem. Figured to have another seal replaced, then the next time we ran the slide out all was well. Next time seal not touching again. The seal can't move, so the slide itself must be tweaking as it goes in and out. I have no idea what to do about this, other than duct tape the gaps as they appear, which is not a real great solution. Has anyone else ever had a problem like this???

i suggest either going to forest city iowa and get it repaired at bago factory and make a vacation out of the trip or locating a dealer that can handle major slide repairs. Also I would try to find someone else who has the exact same problem and listen to them and then get it fixed.

That is what I am doing here. Making a trip to the factory is out of the question, at least for quite a while. We do a lot of camp hosting, and are committed at different locations thru the end of next year. A large factory authorized service center replace the one seal, but they are not reachable right now either. So, unless I come up with someone with a similar problem I guess it will be duct tape for a while...

From one 'old bald guy' to another, my first thought is, Who built the slide system? Is it from HWH, the folks who make the Leveling and Slide Systems? If so, check on the internet and get their 800 number and give them a call. They might be able to walk you through an alignment review or something and get you straightened out.
