Smile Some changes to our 2015 Navion 24J

Just upgraded from a 2013 Navion 24J to a 2015 Navion 24J due to all the upgrades! Some other features I changed:

#1) As with the 2013 Winnebago/Mercedes still was running the generator exhaust pipe out the passenger side of the chassis, directly under the passenger side rear window! Not real healthy since the carbon monoxide travels upwards right into the rear bedroom on a 24J! This was redirected out the rear of the chassis! Also the exhaust pipe is angled low or downward from the chassis which I brought up level horizontally along with a chrome tip! Looks a lot better and less chance of tearing it off!

#2) The exterior plug in for the TV Coax cable was located on the drivers side towards the back along with the 30 amp electrical cord. The problem is they placed it all the way towards the back inside the box which means it is difficult at times to reach in and connect your TV cable. I rerouted the plug in towards the front of the box and placed it inside an electrical box using the same face plate and making a lot easier to connect coax cables too.

#3) Inside the cab under the sink, next to the bathroom, is a small closet without any shelves, I built a shelf which works great to separate towels, cleaning supplies etc.

#4) Above the wash sink by the bathroom, behind the mirror I placed another mirror against the inside wall using stick on tape which works great for shaving, etc.

#5) The cabinet below the microwave for clothing, I cut the clothes rod in half and added several shelves for placing shoes etc.

Other than these changes, love the design of the 2015 24J. Great Class C Motorhome.

Those are some nice improvements.

My wife and I are really attracted to that 24J layout. With five seat belts and three sleeping areas, we can sit and sleep the whole family. And I think that’s as close to a B mobility and dimension wise as we’re going to get since leaving the kids and dog behind isn’t an option.

As mentioned in other forums, make sure you check everything out thoroughly before you purchase (new or used), any warranty is a plus! First year or two is usually when it's needed! Enjoy your Navion, great RV! As I mentioned above the 2015-16s they made great improvements! If your patient and willing to travel there are some great buys on some 2015 models out there, watch RV trader etc. I saved over $40,000.00 when I found my one owner 24J with only 4,000 miles off MSRP sticker price, completely equipped! Good luck

Other changes I've made to our 24J

1) Attached TV Controls to back of Primary TV using Velcro.
2) Installed a Converter from Radio Shack to be able to switch from Dish to Cable hookups without having to disconnect the 3 cables every time!
3) Installed a rack for the Dish Receiver behind the primary TV.
4) Installed a Towel Warmer rack above the toilet, wife loves it!
5) Put identifying labels below most of the light switches.
6) Installed Quick Connect Ends on the water hose to save time connecting it up.
7) We found that a Full XL Fitted Sheets would fit great on the corner bed!

TV connections on 24G are also a PITA. Is there enough wire behind the factory set up to just reposition the box? Did you have to splice more wire? How did you do that??????

Rerouting the TV wiring!

I was able to pull about another 2" out of the wall of the 3 wire Connections (yellow-white-red) that originally ran to the back of the TV. I redirected those wires to the Radio Shack Converter I bought which I mounted on top of my Dish Receiver. I plugged them into the back of the Converter on Input 1 and the three wires from the Dish receiver into Input 2, then I ran a third series of 3 wires out of the Converter Output and ran them to the back of the TV connections. Now all I have to do is hit the button to switch from outside cable to my Dish Satellite. Hope this helps!

The converter cost me about $25.00 from Radio Shack.

Unfortunately Navion failed to run a HDMI cord from the front TV to the back room TV, I'm working on a way around that to get better quality of TV in lieu of upgrading the TV to a better quality!
