Sony Backup Camera

Hi,
Has anyone removed the Sony VCB-MH3 monitor from the dash? I have an Itaska 2006 38T and the back camera went out and the sides work but are very dim and blurry. Do I have to take apart the dash?
Thanx!

Speaking of my specific model, yes the front dash cover(not entire dash) must be removed to access the Sony monitor-for any reason. Buy a new BU camera system because the Sony is obsolete, no part available.
Since the coax is already in-place(assuming it's the same designation), I would look at buying a hard-wired replacement system, simply because they are less money than an equivalent wireless system.

I removed the back of the dash which was surprising easy, 5 screws. Since I still have speaker volume, I assume it is the camera. The sides and back camera go through a video box so I switched the side with the back up to make sure the side worked and the back did not which was the case. Looks like a new camera for the coach.

Kaputnick,
As has been stated, that model Sony system is outdated and, most parts if not all, have been discontinued. And, here's another little kicker, the plug ends of the cables are Sony PROPRIETARY. In that, they are what's called a 6-pin Din plug and, it's not a normal 6-pin din. They ONLY FIT the Sony system of our era coaches. So, if you need to purchase a new hardwired camera and monitor, you more than likely will have to purchase a cable system too.

I'll have to dig around on here and or in my files but, I used to have the name of a gent who specialized in RV cameras and analyzing problems and supplied parts and systems. I'll see what I can find.
Scott
