Hi,
I'm a new owner (and new to the forum) of a 2000 Itasca Suncruiser 35U and had a few questions:
1) The Sony 10 CD changer, which is mounted in the overhead cabinet on the driver's side, has a digital readout mounted on the dash. I've noticed that the backlight stays on all the time on the readout, unless I turn off the master house battery switch. I can't see the light during the day, but it is visible at night. This doesn't seem right. Is this supposed to stay on?
2) If I turn off the master switch for the house batteries, will the solar panel continue to charge them?
3) I'm a little confused about the valve positions on the 3-way valves for the hwh bypass, and the manual doesn't make it clear. Assuming the valve looks like a "T", what is open and closed when the handle is vertical? horizontal? Is left- horizontal the same as right-horizontal?
Thanks!
Bob

Welcome Bob to irv2.
The Sony CD player should be controlled by the radio maybe through a AUX input option. You can download your radio manual if you do not have one just go to Sony web site and select you radio.
If the Solar panel is wired to your batteries they will be charged by panels and some have a small regulator also.
Take a look at this thread with pictures for HWH bypass valves positions.
The valves will be parallel with your pipes in most cases when used for summer use.

Hi Bob and welcome.
I'm not certain on this but I don't think your batteries will charge from your solar (or anything else for that matter) when your master battery switch is turned off.

Unless some one added solar, the solar panel is for the chassis battery and it continues charging with the 12 volt battery switch off, although not much, only 15 watts.

I have a 2003 Winnebago 35U, the 10 pack CD changer has an on switch the large round button to the left of the other controls when I push that to the on position you get the backlit read out, on the extreme left side on the dash unit to turn it off I push the rectangular button mine has the off symbol on it. With my unit I also select the Audio position from the changeover box in the upper right side overhead cabinet it has the Audio/TV selections
I have not been real happy with Winnebago's solar charger, I installed the Trickle Start battery maintainer 2 years ago and have never had a engine starting battery problem since, I found the solar charger would not keep the engine battery charged enough to start my coach if I was parked for 2-3 weeks even in sunny Florida
Hope this helps
