I have a 2009 Tour and brakes squeak loudly when used lightly at low speed. It is very annoying when manuvering in a RV park. The Freightliner sevice center in San Diego checked the brakes and didn't find anything wrong other than the squeak. No glazing etc..

Anybody have a fix for this problem?

Thanks, Bill Barton

Are these disc or drum brakes? If disc brakes there are some things you can do. try scuffing the pad and let them reseat. Take a coarse file and bevel the leading edges of each pad. Make sure the anti-rattle clips are installed and the slide and pins are properly lubricated.

If you do not drive it very often, the disc can get a bit of surface rust on them which can cause some moaning or noise.

If you have drum brakes try the following procedure. It worked for me when my coach was new.

RV Tech Library - Burnishing Squeeling Brakes

I have a 2008 Destination and the same thing occurred. It has subsided to an almost non-squeak status. I say almost, because if it has been sitting here in this humid climate it will squeal when i first move it, What I'll do is turn the exhaust break off and just stop with the brakes only. The squeaking disappeard.

It worked for me.

Good luck.
