On my 06 meridian--FTLR XC, I cannot find the grease fitting on the steering gear. Talk to FTLR, the guy said maybe they are using a different gear now but had no real answer for me. Anyone else had this issue.
Cheers Bob

When at Camp Freightliner last year, they said that the grease fitting was in the rubber boot on the steering column. They said to feel around to find the zert, make a slice in the boot, and grease. The slice if small enough would reseal itself.

There is a second zerk fitting on a U-joint in the steering link just below the floor of the rig. It is hard to get to on my rig but I can reach it thru the generator access door.
Pusherman...thanks for the tip....wasn't aware there was a fitting under that boot...will add that to my list.

Thanks for the reply---But this is not the one I am looking for. The one I need to find out about is on the steering gear. All of my info says there is a zert at the top of the gear box. As to the one you are refering to, at the Daytona Rally last year they said the one under the boot may have been elminated on later models????

Bob, you may be right about the one under the steering boot being eliminated in the most recent models. Not sure when it went away; maybe '06?
