I have a 2007 Vectra with a long list of strange electrical happenings. Typical are the lights in the bedroom. Sometimes the light, the one on the rheostat, do not work - turn on. At the same time the ceiling fan will not turn on. Later, both work fine.

Sometimes, when I press the 'extend slide' button the lights indicating the jack positions come on. The slide will stop moving and not move. When I return to the problem in five minutes of so the slide works fine.

Speaking of jacks, they take forever to deploy or to retract - ten minutes or more. Most of the time all of the jacks come down. Other times only three will extend.

Both the front and rear heaters may, at random, decide not to work. Often they will start working if I turn off the heater, wait a moment, and then turn it back on. Or not.

Currently I am plugged into a 30 amp service. The load shedding lights indicate that it has turned off the fridge, for example. However, the fridge is still running on AC.

The whole system is very confusing and frustrating. It feels like HAL from 2001 is in charge. Sometimes things work - most of the time actually - and sometimes they do not.

Any suggestions about where to start will be appreciated.

I'm sure that if I take the coach to a repair shop and ask that something be fixed whatever it is will, at that moment, choose to work.

It's hard to fix if it ain't broke.

I would start by checking all your grounds to frame of chassis, inverters, converters, negatives of batteries, screw ground connections in 12v fuse panel, make sure all are tight.
Corrosive connections to frame have to be pulled and cleaned use star washer and protect with battery spray paint.
Battery cables are easy to find you may have # 6 bare copper wire from converters or inverters.
Hope its warm where you are.

007 is right on target. You might get lucky and shake the correct ground wire while things are not working, but they probably all need to be cleaned and tightened anyway.
