I am trying to locate the brake controller plug that is supposed to be located under the dash near the steering column.

I'm stumped. Have removed most of the dash cover so can see into area very well.

Winnebago have supplied the pigtail with plug to wire in the brake controller. What to plug it into??

Rig is 2007 Adventurer 35A on a Ford V10 22,000 Chassis.

Does anyone know where this mysterius plug is located?

Gary

It is probably right behind the speedometer and may be ty-wrapped to a wire bundle. There probably is a pigtail in your Black Bag.

Gary I had a heck of a time finding it on my 2007 Sightseer/F53 as well, eventually I did find the bundle of wires stuffed way up, near the steering column. In our case it wasn't a plug, just the wires - needed to splice the other pigtail on those wires following the brake controller instructions. If you were looking for a plug, try just looking for a bundle of wires.

The mystery of trying to find the brake controller has been resolved. Thanks to those who replied to this post and the Winnebago Service Rep who sent me a photo of the area where the plug is located.

Summary:

(1) Remove the four(4) screws that hold the instrument cover (Dash Pod) behind the dash. This will expose all the wiring that feeds the instrument panel systems.

(2) On the left (about 4 inches) of the steering wheel column (directly behind the tachometer) there is a large wire bundle which has a number of plugs attached to it. On of them is the brake controller plug. In my case it was tucked up under the dash and not visible.

(3) The pigtail supplied by Winnebago plugs in and the wires then can connected to a brake controller.

(4) 12 Volt power (pin 3 on pigtail) is fed by a 30A fuse (#13)-(see Ford manual) located in the engine compart behind the air filter.

I have the photo and connector information if anyone would like a copy.
