Tapping Noise in Ford V10

We have just purchased a New Winnebago 2018 Vista LX 27N with a Ford V10.
It has a tapping noise that at times is very loud. There are no specific times when it happens and the sound is quite loud at times.

Our previous 2 motor homes have had the Ford V10 and each "purred" like a kitten with no issues.

Has anyone else had this issue or heard of it.

Often a tapping noise is an indication of a leaking or cracked exhaust manifold. I'd have it looked at by a Ford dealer, it's under warranty, isn't it? It's not something to let go, more damage could be done.

Go ahead and run thru the fuel that is in it and then fill up with a different brand of fuel. Make sure that it does NOT have a high value of Ethanol in it. Check the FORD Chassis book to see what is the nominal amount if any. Ethanol is NOT your friend and will destroy an engine that is not setup for it.

Tapping Noise

I don't know where you are located but...My tapping noise turned out to be the cab a/c compressor going out! Found that out when I came back from a trip and as I approached a stop, a thick cloud of smoke enveloped the coach as the compressor was burning up. But if your not running the CHASSIS a/c then I would make sure it was checked out ASAP. Mine purrs like a kitten now after replacement.

Is there a Ford Commercial Truck service center nearby (they have lifts)? Take it there at let them decide and repair it. Could be anything from a bad rod bearing, stuck lifter, or something else. You are under warranty, let Ford fix it.

Like others have said.....get your rig to a Ford dealer ASAP and at least get it on record for the noise investigation.

Warranties love for the user NOT to have done due diligence.
