Has anyone put a TV in the basement compartment? I can't find a thread on this subject. I would really like to do this.

Thanks

Go to quick tips and easy mods and search #7 & 8. MT Roamer installed a TV in his Bay.

I put a 27" LCD in the bay attached to a swivel mount. just love it. The bay also includes a stereo radio and CD player with speakers. Also have 12v outlet and 110v outlets. Just make sure you build in a system to secure it while traveling.

Will take pictures and put them on here if I figure out how to.

Here's a install between the two basement doors, so you can move the TV forward or to the back. Since the pictures were taken, we have upgraded to a larger TV.

Some really solid brands of higher end television mounts would include Cheif and Peerless. Very strong and built like Panzer tanks. They also have many options for multiple swing arms depending on the size of the TV. Also, LCD would be the appropriate television of choice for this situation because it can still produce a super bright image even in full daylight outside. Don't skimp on the mount!!!!

We did this to our two previous RVs and ran the cable/satellite feed off the rear TV. Use an RF capable receiver/remote so you can change satellite channels from outside the coach.

This is one of the 'why did they do this' items we have with our new 2008 Vectra. The outside TV is connected to the main TV -- several other coach manufacturers ran separate satellite/cable/antenna cables to each TV. Example, 2008 Coachmen Legend that we looked at had three satellite receiver boxes already installed.
