thermostat

Good morning everyone..I have a 2011 view, and recently the digital readout on the coleman thermostat refused to work. the display shows a few lines but not a clear temp. reading. It is covered under warranty so will be replaced. My question is, I was told this happens when they freeze in cold weather. If this is true has anyone had this problem? Anyway to prevent this if it is true? personnally I have a problem accepting this reasoning but will keep an open mind.

Our Coleman True Air went through five winters with sub zero temps I believe. We replaced it not due to the display but because it read about five degrees off and would not run both compressors.

You could unscrew it, unplug it and bring it inside but I find it hard to believe Coleman has a thermostat for an RV that can't make it through winter storage.

Thanks for the reply. I agree about the winter storage. Most likely a defective unit. also nothing to unscrew. it is hard wired. We are traansplanted NYer's. Putnam County near Bear Mtn. moved here 2008 after retirement. stay warm and again thanks.
