Tire Pressure Extenders

I installed a pressure monitoring system a few weeks ago on my Forza 34T. Went out to run it to top off the fuel and found both inner rear tires flat. To make a long story short the plastic valve extenders they installed on the inner rear tires are junk. I replaced both with the stainless steel type. Glad I caught it before heading down the highway.

valve extenders

Glad you found it before it got exciting. There are a lot of post on the forum about these extenders just FYI from my experiences i have had them on two of my motor homes i do not on my current one when i had new tires installed the tire installer would not put them on h stated that he sees more flat tires on heavy trucks and motor homes that hav the extensions h doesnt trust any of them. Personally I never recommend ANY type of valve extenders. All of them have the chance of leaking and will cause major problems.

I got rid of mine when I switched out to new tires. 5 years later not one problem.

Solid valve stems are the only way to travel SAFELY.

And I am in the other camp. I have been using extenders and monitors for 10 years without problems. To me, it makes the job of maintaining the tires easy.

I would also vote for solid valves. They make maintenance just as easy with no worries about failure...the only problem is the expense of installing the solid valves, since they have to remove the tires to do it.

When we got the new Forza 34T, only one rear inside tire had the extender and the other didn't. Apparently, it fell off before we got it! And then the second one, the tire started leaking. Turned out to be junk. I did replace them with metal extenders and put monitors on them.
