I just took delivery on a new Elipse 42 QD. I have it loaded and ready to leave on a three week adventure thru the west. Water tank is full and fuel is half full and both holding tanks are empty. I have weighed the coach and the weights are as follows: steering: 13600, drive: 15500, tag: 7900. Total at is 37000. It has Michelin 275/80 R22.5 XZA3 tires. I have downloaded the tire pressure chart from their web site but I must be doing something wrong because the numbers I come up with are hard for me to believe. I would be interested in seeing what someone else can come up with using the above parameters.

When you were on the Michelin web site did you download or look at their RV guide? I ended up weighing each corner (wheel) separately and then went to the inflation guide.

I'm assuming that you have Load Range H (LRH) tires, since according to this Michelin RV Load Inflation Table the LRG tire can't support your steer axle weights.

As I read the table you need to run 120psi in your steer tires which will support 7160 lbs per tire--that's a fairly small margin over your measured 6800 lbs per tire, especially considering that you only have axle weights and not individual wheel weights, but that's as high as the that tire goes. The rear tires can all run 75psi (lowest value in the table) which will support 9080 lbs (for the pair) in the dual configuration and 4915 lbs in the tag.

What does Winnebago call for on the 'plaque' on the wall near the driver's seat?

[on edit: correct front tire pressure value]
