We also have the Michelin 255/80 R22.V XRV tires and with 50,000 miles and 5 years tires are showing signs of cracking. After reading the posts we're wondering who has shopped in Oregon for tires and what are the best places to go? Is there an advantage to looking at a Cummins dealer over a regular tire shop like Les Schwab?

I priced tires at Les Schwab and others. Ended up getting the best price from Superior Tire, they have several stores. I got mine in Portland.
If you're and FMCA member you can use their program and save even more.

Go to the FMCA site for info.
http://community.fmca.com/topic/2925...-tire-program/
Latest info is on page 4, post #63 by a "tmoning".
Any Michelin dealer that processes National Accounts can handle it.

I have an appointment to get six new tires at Schwabbies in Eugene on Monday. Superior tire beat their price but doesn't have the tire in stock. L.S. does. Go figure. Oh and four are under 6 months old and two are 6 months and two weeks.

If your sticking with Michelin's you might give Costco a call. I put Toyo's on my rig and used Les Schwab.

I bought my Michelins at Costco in Portland, they won't mount them and had to order them in, but even with paying for the mounting and balancing at a regular tire store I found them to be the best price.

I went to the Vancouver, WA Costco and asked for a price quote on tires for my wifes car, he mentioned that they don't sell many tires. So, I asked; why? He said everyone drives across the river to Portland to get them. Gee, a 10 mile drive and you save 8.3%! Who would ever think of doing that?

If you live in Oregon, Les Schwab should be a no-brainer. We've lived in Washington for many years and have been Schwab customers for at least 30.
Some years back, we had a Honda Accord on a lease. We ran across something that put a hole in the sidewall of a front tire. The lease agreement mandated keeping the same brand of tire on both wheels on the same axle
We had the car towed to Schwab and they offered to put two new tires of their Toyo brand on the front, to meet the lease agreement and only charged us for one. Needless to say, we feel fortunate to live in the Schwab service area and wouldn't consider going anyplace else.
When we bought our rig last year, it had the original OEM Goodyears from 2001. We went to the Schwab store in town and the manager, knowng they were for an RV, searched the warehouse records and found a set of six tires that were less than seven weeks old from their DOT manufacture date.
Compared to the GY's, the improvement in ride quality is significant. They aren't the cheapest (about $2200 for six), but the after-sale service is worth whatever the extra cost is, IMO.
I have no connection wtih Schwab except as a very satisfied customer.

If you are going with Michelin's it is worth the $50 to join FMCA and be eligible for thier deal. I saved over $100 a tire on 275 70 r 22.5

Hardy - I'm not timely with a response but I'll do it now. At the Redmond ralley last year Les S. was selling Michelins and Camping World (Portland) was selling Goodyears. I ended up with Goodyear 670's at a significant savings over what I would have paid for Michelins. I know there are arguments for and against both tire companies but both I think put out good products. I've put about about 32,000 miles on the G670tires and notice no obvious signs of wear. IF you can wait until a large ralley you may be able to get a fleet price or other "good" deal.
Safe Travels

You may want to price out Bridgestones while you are at it. They came highly recommended so I put them on my coach a year ago. So far so good.
