Does anyone out there know if tire size
225/70R/19.5 be substituted for 8R19.5 on a 95 Winnebago Adverturer-

This was recommended however we are new owners
and want to be sure before purchasing

Hi Betty/Larry, Welcome to the forum. To the best of my knowledge, your current tire (8R19.5) has a diameter of 33.6 inches and the only replacement available is the 225 70/19.5 with a diameter of 32.0 inches. There are larger tires but they're too wide. You don't want to go too wide because the rear duals will slap together at highway speeds (kiss) and self destruct.
