Don't forget to check the federally required 4 digit DOT date code. two digits (week) two digits (year)
Example: 2307 -> manufactured the 23rd week of 2007
This is very important since you are likely to loose your tires due to age rather than mileage.
Some tire dealers are putting old tires on. You only have 5-7 years.. So, a tire 1 or 2 years old is 1/5th (20%) -1/7th or 2/5th (40%) - 2/7th already gone.
So if the tire is say 1 year old.. You should get a 20% discount for age.
The DOT date code is on one side of the tire.. If you don't see it, look on the other side. It's there
Also, shop around, I have seen $300.00 difference each in the tires from shop to shop.
