Hi--

I soon need to change all the rear tires on my 2003 Winnebago Journey 36DL. I recently changed the front and put on Michelin XRV 235/80/22.5

Now for the rear, I am considering going with a brand like Yokohama. I have had them on my car before and they were good tires. Not sure how they are for RV's though. They seem to be less expensive for one thing. Anyone have any thoughts or educated opinions on the Yokohama 255/70/22.5?

Would this size fit without a problem? Would I need to adjust speedometer or tranny?

Thank You,

Steve

I would stick with the XRV because the compound is designed to last much longer under RV use. RV tires rarely wear out, they "weather out".

Obviously you have been happy with the XRV. Why would you want to "take a chance" on something else.

The price is less and the load ratings are higher. Thought they would be good options for the rear.

If you were going to put them on a UPS truck where you don't care about the ride quality or life (in years) of the tire, that would probably be a good reason. All I can tell you is that I have replaced my fronts with XRV's and the same tires will go on the rear in the next couple of years.

Now if you are going to sell your rig in the near future, that's another animal.
