We have had our new 2009 Winnebago Tour 40TD for exactly one month and, overall, we're pretty happy with it. But the other day I was hanging up a towel in the bathroom and the towel rod fell off the wall. Upon inspection I learned that it was simply screwed into to wallboard, no anchors of any kind. I'm surprised it didn't fall sooner. Is that really how this coach was constructed or was someone on the assembly line just feeling lazy that day?

We've had no 'hardware' problems with our 2007 Tour 40TD and, trust me, the boys and their friends are pretty tough on the coach.

Only piece that cracked was the wall mounted light by the bed. Winnebago replaced it under warranty.

Well at least it is something easy to fix. Probably a substandard worker that day.

They haven't fired that towel rack installer yet?! On my 03 and my 07 Winnebagos I had the same problem. Go figure!

May all your "bugs" be that small.

Best Regards!

I just checked ours and it is solid. I didn't want to push my luck and give it a good hardy pull though.
We've had about 3 pages of things to fix in the 7 months we have owned our TD so consider yourself lucky. The dealer and factory have been very good about everything we have found though. I especially liked the service at the factory while we were at the GNR this year. Good luck and enjoy that TD!
