We faithfully used a Roadmaster Guardian on our trip to Alaska and the Jeep windshield still got two huge cracks due to rocks being tossed above the shield and to the side. Additionally the leading edge of all fenders (and the air dam) looked like they were shot with rock salt from a shotgun.

The Guardian did protect the area immediately behind it; however rocks would ricochet off the Guardian and fly into the rear cap. We must have 20 or 30 dings in the cap thanks to the 'Guardian.'

After Alaska, I took the Guardian off and haven't used in in two years. I think I'll use it as a target holder when I sight in my deer rifle each fall.

I am absolutely convinced the best protection is the skirt like Fakrwee mentioned.

If you have a Blue Ox tow bar you may want their Karguard. It's the one I use.

Is anybody using the Protectatow with a rear diesel exhaust?

How did you do it? Did you have to reroute the exhaust to discharge to the side? I suppose that would be an expensive mod.

I wonder if it's possible to reroute the exhaust out the top as many of the transit buses I see do?

I think the best is the Tow Defender by Roadmaster. I hardly even get dust on my Subaru and it is an easy hookup

Thanks all. I use a dolly to tow with so I don't think the Protect a Tow would work. Have to check out the rest.

I have this and it is working great. Protects the toad very well and is easy to place on the car and clean.

Should work with a tow dolly.

I'm almost certain that Protect-a-Tow can be used with a tow dolly although it still would connect to the car, not the dolly. Best give Protect-a-Tow a call or drop them and email. Their website is www.protectatow.com

I've had mine for several years and couldn't be happier. Not to mention the price is right and installation is simple.
