Visited the coach in storage this weekend and found the 12v house electrical completely down/dead. I had shoreline power and 110v okay. Aux bat on/off had no effect. Generator start would not engage even with MOM switch. Disconnecting and reconnecting shoreline power had no effect.

Started the engine and 12v house electrical came on. Was able to start the generator straight away too. House batteries were at 11.9v with very little load as they started charging.

The coach was last out and about two weeks ago. When I store it I turn off the inverter but leave 12v on to keep the batteries charged. Between the 60% discharged state of the house batteries and the microwave clock going back to clear/reset message (I clear it every time I connect shore power even in storage) it does appear there was a loss of shoreline power at some point, probably due to a storage unit breaker on the shared circuit being tripped (happened before). I do have a SurgeGuard on the shoreline power connection.

My question is why did the 12v house circuits not come back on their own after shoreline power was restored? Is this indicative of a problem with the transfer switch or something else?

Jon,
Check that your dash switch that completely shuts off all power to the 12V appliances did not get tripped. It happened to me once, and caused quite a panic until I figured it out. If the switch is hit, nothing is drawn from, or gets to the house batteries.

Otherwise it could be an issue with your transfer switch.

The dash switch and circuit breakers were the first things I checked. Nada.

The dash switch (Aux Bat) was on when I locked the coach up two weeks ago. However, it is a relay and relays have been known to "get stuck" on occasion.

I did retest dropping shoreline power a couple of times and the 12v stayed on. Will monitor/test some more over the next few days.

I've had no power a couple of times after running the generator, and then plugging into shore power. Both times, I "smacked" the transfer switch as hard as I could a couple of times with my hand, heard it "snap", and power was restored.

We'll see after I complete my tests over the next couple of days if it was a fluke or what.
