Trik-l-start installation

Presently I have a Xantrex Echo charger installed in my 2006 Winnebago Adventurer 38J that has quit working. My chasis battery even though new dies every 4-5 days It is extremely difficult to get the lead on the positive side of the chasis battery as the posts are on the side and it is a tight squeeze. I have purchased a Trik-l-start that I want to install in the engine compartment near the fuse box as a recommended spot to install it. I cannot find the corrects chassis and house post in the engine compartment to install it on. Can anyone give me some help with even a photo if possible. Thank You

Don't know if this will help or not, but on my diesel chassis the house disconnect and aux start solonoids are about 6" from each other. That's the perfect place to find all of the required connections.

Thats my problem. I have a gas model and I have looked in the engine compartment and cannot find that location. If anyone knows that on a Checy Workhorse winnebago 38j please advise..Thanks

Your chasis batteries should not be dieing every few days. You need to fix the power drain problem first.
The stairs, slides, jacks, and radio all run off the chassis battery, I would look there first.

I put a trik l starter on our motorhome, but I installed it in the battery compartment. That's where the battery isolator was in our motorhome so that's where the trik l starter went.

Thanks to everyone for their great answeres. My broken Echo Charger is now mounted in the battery compartment. My chasis battery has side mounted posts a tight squeeze and it is a nightmare to get the cable from the charger on the positive post so. Now that it gave out, I am looking to mount it in the engine compartment next to the fuse box bur cannot find the specific spot it goes. Does anyone have an adventurer past 2006 with a charger installed by Winnebago? Where is it located in the engine compartment?

You should mount the Trik-L-Start in the compartment above and behind the batteries under the steps. That is where the isolation solenoid is, just connect one lead to each side of the solenoid and the ground lead to the metal under a screw or bolt.

Easy rider,
I am in the battery compartment and what I see is a Post with 3 cables going to it. To the left of that there is a square looking device approx 2.5 inches long and 3/4 high with 2 posts. One of the posts goes to posivie side of house battery and the post on the left disappears under the coach. what does the battery isolater look like?

I have a Tril-L-Start and mine is installed just like John states.

My problems is I can't tell what the solonoid looks like. There is a square device about 3 inches long and 3/4 inch high with two posts on it. One of the Posts go to the House battery and the other goes down under the coach somewhere. Is that the solonoid? There is also another post with 3 red cables on it and that all there is in that compartment..

If yours is like mine, I have a 38g, there is a panel in the the kick space of the step well. It usually drops down when you pull the battery step cover out. Here is

John,
Thanks for the photo. I have found the panel on the step above the battery step and I took the cover off. That is one small place to look into and work on. Still cannot see the solonoid. I'm wondering if I can get a better look at things by looking from underneath the coach. I will try that as soo as it quits raining.

Great photo John! CNJ, that's what it looks like! Easy install once you find the isolator. I can't see my Trik L Starter with the panels in place but I don't worry about it. It works fine whether I can see it or not.

Can you get at the battery isolation solonoid from the front or do you have to get underneath the vehicle and get at it from the backside. I took the Electrical Box Panel off and cannot see the solonoid. I see cables going downward but you can't see where they are going. Guess I'll have to crawl underneath and see if I can find it.
