Tru-Air Thermostat Wiring Diagram

The thermostat in our 2002 Itasca 35U quit working on our last trip (was getting power but neither the fan nor the compressor was coming on). As such, we purchased a new thermostat from the local dealer figuring it would be easy enough to replace. Pulled the old one out ... looked at the new one ... oops ...number of wires on the new one is less than that of the old.

Per the dealer, the new thermostat we have is "suppose" to be the replacement for the one in our unit. We cannot return the new thermostat either as they will not take back electrical parts.

Anyone have any idea on how the wires are suppose to match up? We sure don't want to pay the dealer a fortune if this is something we can do ourselves.

I would call Winnebago Owner Relations at (800) 537-1885 (you will need to give them the year, model & s/n of your coach) to find out:
1 - if that is REALLY the right thermostat for your coach; and if so,
2 - how to hook it up

They are very knowledgeable AND very helpful folks there.

abn, your coach is close to the same age as mine. Below is the wire color, description, and termial connection of the stock Coleman Mach and the new Rite-temp that I bought at Home Depot for $69.

To install yours, just refer to the 1st 3 columns.

Turns out the dealer sold us the wrong thermostat. Imagine that. Fortunately they are going to order the right one and exchange them.
