True Air Buzzing Noise

I'm sure this question has been asked before. The true air conditioner on my 2000 Adventurer has a constant buzzing noise comming from it when not being operated but hooked up to 120 volts. I think someone said that it could be a solonoid going bad. Is this something that can cause any other damage or can I let it buzz until I get back from vacation? Other than that the air works fine.

Sounds like a control transformer for the a/c unit. Will have to be replaced to stop the hum. For it to be a contactor/solenoid to be humming compressor would have to be running. It is not an expensive part but costly to get someone to change out for you. If you are capable of checking, I would go that route. Remove screws holding side panel at bottom, raise and remove electrical cover from a/c unit, transformer should be just inside. Transformers will operate for long time while making noise if you can stand it. Good luck!
