We have the MH in the sig. We would like to remove the TV in the front at some point in the near future. We have a squeak we would like to fix and also maybe upgrade wiring. Thanks.

Juststreamin,

Before you go to all of the trouble of removing the front TV, try this:

Sit on the dashboard and look up at the back of the TV. You'll see a rectangular opening to the cavity where the TV is located. Shine a flashlight in there and look towards either side of the TV. I found two pieces of styrofoam that were being used as wedges. When the TV moved slightly during travel, the styrofoam squeaked against the TV.

I removed the styrofoam - took a little wiggling - and all of the squeaks disappeared. It was far easier than removing the TV.

If you want to remove the bezel around the front of the TV, there are two screws along the bottom and two screws in each of the sides. You have to look in each cabinet next to the TV to find the screws. Once the bezel is off, you can tighten the clamp that holds the TV. Removing the screws from the right front cabinet, can be difficult with the switching box for the audio/video system taking up space in the cabinet, but it can be done.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck

W8RLM - Bob

I had mine out to replace it. We had a hard time finding any square TV to fit in the opening and I just did not have time to re-work the cabinet...we finally found a Sharp 26" that fit like a glove.

Like Bob said, you must remove the front wood frame-bezel and on your rig the plastic bottom is attached to the bezel. It's hard to describe but you will need to remove screws under and at the rear of the plastic bottom pan, and about six screws that can only be accessed via the cabinets on either side of the TV. It is a pain. If your's is the original RCA TV, it weights about 62 pounds so be prepared to deal with the weight. I had a helper.
