Got the TVs out of our 2004. Will replace with LCDs, but I really don't want wall brackets. I just want the TVs back in the cabinets. I've seen the restraint systems at Camping World etc., but it doesn't seem that they would work with the new TVs as well as the old Cathode Ray models with the deeper cabinet styles. Is there a product that would securely fasten these down in the old cabinets? Thanks!

I replaced the CRT model above my dash and used the Mor Ryde TV40-001H mount in the old cabinet to mount the LCD. See MOR/ryde - Products - Aftermarket - TV Mounts It mounted to the bottom of the cabinet and you place it far enough in to flush mount the LCD. It has a locking mechanism, that when released, allows the LCD to extend forward about 12 inches and fully articulate up/down and left right for better viewing angles. I have found it be very secure and heavy duty.

Dave, did you have to leave room at the side of your opening to release the lock?

No, you just need enough clearance on the sides for the TV itself. The release bar on this mount is on the BOTTOM. You have to pull up on the bar to disengage the arm that extends out with the TV attached.

You will need to have a couple inches below the TV (MH is in storage or I would measure) for the release bar to function as designed. In other words, if your TV was 22 inches high, your cabinet opening from top to bottom would need to be around 24 inches. But, since the old CRT's were 4:3 ratio and the new LCD's are 16:9, if you maximize the cabinet space with the largest width LCD you can fit in your opening, you will have plenty of space on top and bottom. For mine, I found a 32" LCD TV with built in DVD player that fit in the original cabinet width without modification (about 1/2 inch on each side clearance) and was able to move the bottom of the cabinet up 2-3 inches and still have the necessary space at the bottom for the release bar.
