We have a 2007 Voyage 35C and have been annoyed with a "twanging" sound from the rear end.
We first thought it was drive train and took it to Workhorse. They found no drive train problem and thought it was water heater sheet metal. I braced and snubbed that with no effect.
I then noticed that the twang changed sides when the wind changed. Turns out to be the sheet metal mud flap in front of the rear wheels. Others have had similar problems with sheet metal mud flaps, both front and back. Seems like Winnebago should do a better job either bracing or attaching sheet metal mud flaps.

I previously owned a 2000 Adventurer with the sheet metal mud flaps. When I first picked it up new, it was missing the braces to the mud flaps on the left side of the coach only. Must have been lunch time that day. I took the coach back to the dealer and they ordered braces for that side under warrenty.

I thought I was the only one to experience this issue.

On my maiden voyage driving thru New Mexico we were experiencing heavy winds. All of a sudden I heard this continuous twang noise coming from the rear. It got so strong I pulled over expecting the worse. I got under but didn't find anything so we took off. As soon as we picked up speed it started again. Pulled over a second time and couldn't find the source. This time I told my wife to sit in the back and try to locate the Noise. She said it was coming from under the shower. Stopped again and couldn't find anything wrong till I just happened to move the metal mud flap and imitate the sound. We continued the trip but even knowing the source it was still a little unnerving.

Dealer fixed it on our next visit. I still get a little twang under extreme side wind conditions but got used to it. You would think they could come up with some type of bracket to address the issue.

Yea, I thought that we had a mud flap noise when the coach was new. After many checks and searching, both me and the ford service center, I found that the slide out frame work was rubbing into the leaf spring mounting bolt and wore a hole through the aluminum frame work. The noise finally stopped once the hole was worn all the way through. At least that is what I came up with.

Had a similar problem with our Meridian. The metal flap in front of the wheel on the passenger side had shaken one bolt all the way out and loosened the other two. The dealer tightened up the loose ones and replaced the missing one. Shortly after the noise returned, and the flap was coming off again. My fix was to place a brace between the flap and the brace located about four inches ahead of it. The brace consisted of a piece of 1/2" metal conduit cut to length, and a 5/16" bolt through the brace and flap. This fix has been in place for four years and has not come loose again.
