Ultimate Freedom Mirrors

Hello All. This my first post, so let me know if this does not go to the correct place. I had an unfortunate incident where I was in the left lane passing a highway work crew in the right lane of I-10 in the Florida panhandle. My right hand mirror clipped some highway construction equipment and the mirror was torn from its mounting bracket and destroyed.
My problem is that these mirrors are the hang down type, used on some tour busses and Winnebago no longer keeps these mirrors in stock in their parts inventory. I can not locate any manufacturers name on my remaining left hand mirror. My unit is a 2001 Ultimate Freedom.
Would any of you know the manufacturer of these mirrors, and/or a source to obtain a replacement mirror? Thanks in advance for your help

Here's the part info from the parts list (from http://www.winnebagoind.com/service/submenu/2001.htm) for the 2001 Ultimate Freedom:

KEY PART NUMBER U/M DESCRIPTION
* 129656-01-01A EA MIRROR - EXTERIOR REMOTE/HEAT - PASSENGER
* 129656-02-01A EA MIRROR - EXTERIOR REMOTE/HEAT - DRIVER
129486-01-01A EA SPACER-MIRROR,BLACK
129607-03-01A EA BRACKET - MOUNTING/MIRROR
129607-04-01A EA WIRE - MIRROR - EUROPEAN
*COMPONENT PARTS LISTED LATER IN THIS GROUP

I see those mirrors listed on page 191 of the 2008 Winnebago R.V. Parts and Accessories catalog. You might check with Lichtsinn Motors (http://www.lichtsinn.com/motorhome/parts.htm) in Forest City to see if they can get the part for you.

Chris,
Sorry for the delayed response. I had previously checked with Lichtsinn and received the same response that these mirrors were not stocked anymore and the manufacturer was Hella, a German company that is now out of the mirror business. I may be looking at converting both mirrors to the more conventional bottom mount type. Thanks for your input

Pat

Pailakapat,

Here is a website that lists RV salvage yards....they may have what you need w/o replacing the mirrors and doing the bodywork.

Good luck,
Dave

I got the same response from my dealer - the mirrors are no longer produced. I had my 03 Advantage in for some service and there was another Ultimate that had lost a mirror (I think it was the right mirror also.) The service writer mentioned to be careful with my mirrors since they couldn't find replacements since the manufacturer was not making them anymore. Since them I've been very careful. When the coach was new, I did have to have one replaced that I had damaged.
