I truly appreciate the replies to my previous appeal for help when my Journey shut down recently in Indio, Ca. I tried to obtain service locally, however, I didn't have confidence in what was available. Hence, I called Coach Net to see if I could obtain a tow to a Cat service center, 70 miles away. Coach Net came through for me!! It is an excellent service. If you don't have it, I highly, highly, recommend them to you. Once I got to the Cat service center, Johnson Power Systems, in Riverside, Ca. I was well treated and given excellent service at this facility. It ended up that the problem with my motorhome involved a Huei (sp?) pump. This defective pump was replaced, and the unit tested on a Dyno. All aspects of the test were positive so we could now drive the rig. Cost of this repair-$2500.00.
Yikes!!! Once a diagnosis was made, I called Continued Service Protection the insurance provided by Good Sam with all details of the repair. I had to provide service records for the past two years which I obtained from the Freightliner Service Centers in Gaffney, SC, and locally near my home town. Once CSP was satisfied that I had taken care of the rig, they approved the repair and replacement. All that I am obligated to pay is a $100.00 deductible, CSP the Good Sam program came through for me in a big, big, way. Again, I highly recommend them to those of you who may not have this type of insurance. I had to pay up front since Johnson Power Systems didn't want to wait for payment from CSP. However, from my point of view, that was a minor thing. My thanks to all of you who responed to my initial post concerning this issue.
