As many of you know and have posted in previous threads, it seems like many of us has had problems with our Magadyne radios. If you have been following these threads you know you cannot buy another Magadyne to replace yours as they are not made and finding a replacement has been difficult. In some Winny models there is not enough room to fit another brand into the dash due to the dimensions of the opening and where it is situated in the dash. This only leaves a few options:
1. Find someone who has a Magadyne that wants to sell it....good luck!
2. Try to find a another brand of radio that will fit the existing opening. This is more challenging as on certain Winny models they have situated the existing radio at the bottom of the dash leaving you about 1/4 of inch at best to retro-fit another brand.
3. If you do retro another radio then you may have to splice about 14 wires to the new harness. If you have ever done this it is not easy and time consuming. I guess I am getting to old for this tedious task.
To my knowledge there are no new brands that match up to the existing plug that the Magadyne uses so you left with splicing.
NOW THE GOOD NEWS. For those of you who have a Magadyne 9900 CDS
radio that is not working I found a source where you can buy "re-conditioned" ones. This eliminates all the cutting, splicing and time spent to retro and different brand. The re-conditioned radios fit the same hole, plug into the existing harness and yes, they come with "weather radio". The company is ABS Auto and RV. Call Dennis at 888-725-7187. The have dozens of re-conditioned radios in stock. They are located in Ca.
Give him a call for pricing. He was very helpful. He also has a new replacement radio that is i-POD ready that should fit most of our openings.
I am just posting this as I know there are dozens of us out here that may not want to go to a full retro radio of another brand so this might be an option for some of you. Good luck gang.

Sammie, yes, when I called them they did not have 9900CDS radio in stock and said they do not carry them anymore which is why I posted the above information. They do have the M-1 which will work in some models as a replacement. Thanks for posting that site though as it could be an option for some owners.
