Hey All,

We do a lot of desert trips, and it looks like our 2007 Access 26A will come with group 24 85AH batteries: I need my 200AH.

The opening looks a little tight; will the 12 volt Group 27's or 6 volt AGM's fit in there?

Thanks!

I'm guessing you have Interstate SRM24's or similar. The comparison dimensions I found matching your question are:

Interstate SRM24 11w x 6 7/8d x 9 1/2h

Trojan 6V-AGM - 10 1/4w x 7 1/16d x 10 5/8h
200ah each, 200ah total
Would require about 1" additional height.

Trojan 27-AGM - 12w x 6 5/8d x 9 3/16h
100ah each, 200ah total
Would require about 1" additional width.

To be sure, amp-hour ratings are total capacity. For vented wet-cell lead-acid batteries you really only get to use 50% of capacity before recharging is required.

The nice thing about AGM technology is you'll get more consistent voltage and more usable power as you discharge. IMHO with AGM you can safely go a little ways past 50% discharge before needing to recharge.

Thanks Vicki/Jon.

I'll have to do some measuring once I pick up the new rig.
