Hi everyone, Installed a US Gear aux breaking system on my car yesterday. It works the way it is supposed to. Now I have to hook it up in he MH. My question is , where is the hook up in the back of the MH to tie into the break light umbilical cord and where in the front do you hook up the control module. We have an 08' Meridian so the chassis should be pre-wired. If you can help me that would be great so I can get it done this weekend or I can call Winnebego on Monday. Thanks in advance for all your help.

This is our first MH, so I have lots of questions and everyone here has been a great help whenever I have posted a question. Hopefully I can return the favor at some point.

Hans

Hans, You should have a seven prong connector at the rear of your Meridian adjacent to the receiver hitch. One of the wires will be "hot" which will keep your toad battery charged while driving. If connected correctly, the little green jewel light will be lit up upon connecting the toad to your coach.
All freightliner chassis's are pre-wired for the US Gear kit somewhere around 2007( I think). We bought a 2007 Itasca (new) and it was pre-wired. Unless you want to removed the front seat (probably not necessary), you might need to get on your back to find the harness on the coach. Look near the front left corner behind the dead pedal(where your left foot rests while driving) and located a large wire harness/bundle coming out of the floor (approx 1-1.5 inches in diameter). Then start following the branches that come off of this and you should be able to located the plug without too much difficulty. Hopefully, your kit came with the adapter plug for the Freightliner connection. As I recall, the plug on your Meridian will not actually be labeled (even though the factory says that it is). You'll just need to look for the plug that matches up with your kit. Hope this helps---good luck.

Thanks Mike, I am going to the MH this afternoon and will look for what you described. You are right all the connectors came with the US Gear kit. There is one pig tail for the driver control and one pig tail for the back of the coach. I will see if I can figure it out

If you still have a problem locating the wiring bundle call Freightliner's help desk @ 800 385-4357 and they will help you out. US Gear is the only supplemental braking system manufacturer to contact Freightliner and work their system through with them. It is possible that you will need an additional female connector to hook up to the system.
