Vacuum pump

Just inside the front "hood" on the drivers side of my MC is a small vacuum pump that appears to be for operating the ac/heat controls. Mine runs constantly when the heater control is turned to "off" or to "max AC". When I turn the control to one of the other setting such as "AC" or "defrost" air then I can hear the controls operate and then the vacuum turns off. It seem to me that it should only run as long as it is changing controls

I have a picture but I am having trouble getting it off my phone. but there is a fitting on the pump where it looks to me like a vacuum hose should have been attached, but I can't seem to see any loose hoses around to attach to it??? I haven't crawled around under the RV to see if it is hidden below my site line. There is one vacuum line attached to the control running up to a round control under the dash on the firewall.

if any one has any experience with this I would appreciate your help

Wayne

Common problem. Replace the vacuum lines as it has a crack somewhere.

Sorry I should have done some searches first. What I thought was a spot to attach a hose is an exhaust port and the problem is probably a leak in one of the lines some where
Thanks

They usually split at the connections. You may have enough tubing to snip off the end and get by until you replace the whole tubing.

This old thead has some explanation and suggestions on fixing it, along with pictures of a typical failure:
Pump noise under the hood??

On mine ... It was the vacuum actuator for the outside air blend door that needed replacement since it had a vacuum leak and was causing the vacuum pump to run while in "off" or "max air conditioning" modes. Both modes will require that the outside air blend door close.
