Valve Extenders - 2018 View

When my 2018 View (24D) arrives, I plan to add valve extenders. I've ordered it with the aluminum wheels so, anyone have any suggestions for what brand and an estimate as to what a shop will charge to install?

Thanks,
Mark

Extenders are a bad idea, solid replacement stems are a good idea. Look here. A lot of the sprinter and transit users are going this way.

This link goes right to them, Borg dually valves

Duallyvalve Kits for Class B or C - Sprinter Trucks

Every tire must be pulled, valve installed and remounted. Cost varies depending on your service area and tire shop doing the work. Maybe around $100 to install, perhaps more. Don't forget you will need to have each tire balanced again. It is tough to balance the inside rear tires with those long extenders - tough. Several folks have had a terrible ride post install of those valves, others no problem. Like other things it varies, tires good, out of round, was it riding smooth before the change, etc.

I have the steel wheels with crud covers. Some tie wrap them with stainless tie wraps, I use just the nylon tie wraps, no sharp edges, two per cover opposing each other. Not a worry for you with alum wheels. All you will have to do is keep em polished!

Bill,

Thanks for the information. I found a set on sale at CW of all places and bought them in advance of my View arriving later this year.

One question for you or anyone else reading this...
After replacing the valve stems on the inner wheels you mentioned difficulties getting them properly balanced - is there any thought about using internal balancers like the Dynabeads or similar?

Glad to see you're OTR where its warm and the 'fridge is working..

Mark
