The vertical seal on one of my slides is cockeyed. When the slide is extended, the top 2/3 is turned in towards the body, the lower 1/2 to the outside. Is this normal? At least it doesn't leak

most do this, mine does, it no problem. If it bothers you take a flat tip screwdriver and carefully run it under the turn in part and it will come out but it will do the same thing againwhen you exercise the slide

I tried that once and you are right. I thought about WD-40 on the wall but decided that might be a bad idea

This was covered in one of the seminars we attended at GNR. We were told that the rubber needs to "memorize" it's proper position. So, if you straighten it out (they suggested using your awning hook....stick the tip under and pull the seal out the correct way) a few times it will "learn" where it's supposed to go.

Hope that helps.

I ty-wrapped a small kitchen spatula to the handle of an extendable squeegee. The spatula has a nice smooth flat plastic handle with all the edges rounded so no chance of scratching the paint or damaging the slide rubber. Now you can just walk around to all the slide rubbers standing on the ground and slide the handle up the rubbers from the bottom straightening out the rubbers. The only cost to this special tools is stealing the spatula from the kitchen draw and getting caught all the rest you probably already have in the tool bay.

don't use anything but 303 silicone on your seal
