Hi folks,
My trials and tribulations continue - these are small problems of course but they frustrate me.
On my 04 W22 chassis I have to install a diode (for my US Gear toad braking system) in the blue wire running from the brake light switch to the brake lights - between the switch and the diode I also have to connect a wire to the brake controller.
My problem is this - i have very little room to cut this circuit, add two terminals to it and splice the additional wire in the line. Winnie has placed (I have a 05 Itasca Suncruiser 35U) the metal bottom of the dash assembly so close to the harness connector to the switch that I can barely get more than two fingers in there.
To frustrate me even further I can not remove the connector from the switch - the mounting point on the switch is relatively fragile and I have not been able to find the locking mechanism that holds the connector to the switch. Visibility is poor in this tight area and I just hate to yank the harness hard for fear of breaking something. If I can remove the connection I will be able to make the modifications relatively easy
Does anyone have any experience with removing this connector from the switch? Is there something that I should be pushing or pulling to unlock it (I can not see such a device)?
Hopefully someone else has done this - I know Dale (Oemy) has but he seems to have much more room under the dash to work in.
Anyway, that is my dumb question for the day
Thanks for your help
Preston
