Greetings,
I am trying to disconnect/kill the chirping bonging sound that sounds off every time I turn the ignition key off. I have a 2001 Adventurer (gas). I found a likely relay on the electrical installation diagram but when I looked at the MH that small panel was not where the diagram indicated. I could not find it anywhere else either. I believe the sound comes from the right side dash speaker. (it is difficult to get a good bearing on the sound) Of course the speaker is not the source, there is a sneaky relay somewhere. I know life is too short to let this #$$^%@ bell irritate me, but it does.
Please offer any suggestions, other than turning my hearing aids off!

Jerry:

Is the sound occurring when you shut off but leave the key in? If that's the case, you could pull the key out just a short distance and the sound should stop. If it's going all the time the key is out, there's a fault in the wiring someplace.

Frank,
I sounds off about five seconds after tuning the ignition off, whether the key is in or out. It will go beep beep (pause) beep beep. That's it. I too thought it was a warning that the key is still in the ignition, similar to cars if you open the door with the key in. May it is just a reminder to take out the key but I find it annoying.

thanks for your thoughts.
