Water from Heat Pump area

this past weekend we used the Journey one more time before the winter. for the first time i noticed something that did not seem normal, or at least i have not seen it before. while i was sitting outside, i noticed while the electric furnace was running, that water was coming out of it on the ground. i looked under the body and it was coming out from the middle of the unit. no water lines any where nearby, and it was more than just a drip, probably could have filled my coffee cup each cycle it ran. i just have never noticed this before. thoughts

Sounds like the condensate drain.

Mine does the same thing. The higher the humidity the more condensation drains out.

A heat pump is essentially an air conditioner installed backwards (when in the heating mode).
The "cold side" is outside the coach, and removes moisture from the air like an air conditioner removes humidity from the inside air.
What you are seeing is the condensation draining from the unit.

Mine too. On mine there is a rubber insert on the bottom of the heat pump pan that can get plugged too so I clean that every now and then otherwise water in it back up and spills through an overflow I guess. The first time I crawled under there and poked at the clogged rubber insert I scared the heck out of myself when water just began to POUR out of there!

Depending on the outside ambient temperature and humidity the condensor coil (now an evaporator coil) will ice up. Heat pumps are designed to detect this and periodically go into "defrost" mode to melt the frozen condensate off the coil. It is likely the moisture from the defrost cycle that you saw coming out the condensate drain. This would be "working as designed" and nothing to worry about. In fact, I'd worry if you did NOT see this.
