This is my first post here, so please be kind! We have a 2008 Adventurer 38J and if we are traveling and there are medium winds against the driver side of the rig, we hear a vibrating noise coming from the water heater area on the outside of the coach (I can hear it on the inside of the coach, at the bottom of the slide). There is a vent on the outside of the rig, and I'm guessing the wind will enter the vent, and rattle the inside water heater door. Has anyone ever experienced this and is there something we should be doing to stop the metal from rattling?

Welcome to irv2 boxfeet.
If its the door maybe you can find some rubber or plastic feet and place them between frame of water heater and door of WH.
Top two corners may all you will need.
If its a baffle inside try bending it so won't pick up so much wind.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

After securing every piece of metal that could possibly make noise in our water heater, we discovered the real noise maker. There is a piece of sheet metal in front of the driver side rear wheel. This metal sheet is secured by screws to the undercarriage of the rig. I think it keep rocks from banging into the side of the water heater, under the coach. Anyway there is a tab a the bottom that should be spot welded to keep it secured to the coach undercarriage. Ours had come loose at the spot weld and that was the vibration noise we were hearing.

The noise maker on our coach is the one-way vent flap for the convection/microwave oven. Whenever a cornering side wind is just so or when an eighteen wheeler goes by, this flap really sounds off. There is supposed to be a catch tab for it, but it was never there or removed or fell off.

We just live with it.
