Leaks are cause by dirt in the fitting, a bad fitting, or bad washers. All hoses will stiffen up when they get cold. If that is an issue for you, they do make heated hoses and that will minimize the problem. Hoses that don't take up much room are the collapsing hoses and they are junk.
If you need to see what's out there look here.

No amount of money can buy you an extra second of time.
I use the white, drinking water safe, RV hose. I have a 50' and a 25', using the appropriate length to the faucet. I also replace the washers each year, they get compressed and brittle with age.

It's now about 12 years old and doesn't leak or get stiff when it's cold outside.
When we picked up our new motorhome in 2013 we forgot to take the water hose with us. When we stopped at a campground we bought a 25' x 5/8" Good Sam hose. It works fine when the temperatures are above 75*. When they dip lower it turns into a stick that can't be rolled up. It's now only used when we need an extension for the older one.
He makes up the length of hose you need. I've never had to replace one. I did have a small issue with one of his pressure regulators. He went overboard to fix a mistake I made.
