I have a 2004 Ithasca Meridian 32 and have just found a very soaked carpet near the kitchen. I am wondering if the slideout could be the cause and if anyone has any suggestions to fix this problem. I am in california and it is raining for two days now and expect more rain in the next 4 days.

Rule out the slideout leaking by closing it. If the carpet still gets wet you need to investigate an alternate entry point.

The 2 man method with a spray wand out side applying water to the slideout may help shorten the investigation. Good luck.

I've had a small wet dry vac aboard for many years and it has served me well. Hair dryer / fan depending on how much time you have works best to finish up.

We had a 2003 32' Horizon which has the same floorplan as your 2004 Meridian. Since you say the carpet is getting wet, I assume it is the carpet going from the kitchen into the hallway by the bathroom?? Which is where that slideout seal is located.

I would agree that the slideout would be the usual culprit to check. Sometimes the seals don't lay flat against the surface, and wind-driven rain can come in. If a wrinkle is found, just flip the rubber seal a bit to fix (check inside and outside seals) (also I assume no pitcher of water spilled in the refrigerator??)

A few other things to consider with your water leak. The vent above the kitchen could be leaking, the window in the hall by the bathroom could be leaking, and the joint at the drip rail and fiberglass roof, just behind the slideout could be leaking.

But if the leak is on the living room side of the kitchen, then I might look under the sink to see if a pipe is leaking with water flowing toward the front of the coach.

If you can't see the leak, about all you can do is to dry it out with a shopvac, then place paper tissues over the area, and watch carefully over time, to see where the water is coming from.

I hate water leaks!

Check the fittings on the P-Trap under the sink. Sometimes just the movement of the coach will cause them to loosen and leak

I have a 2005 Meridian 39K and just before leaving for work I found the carpet wet near the front enterance and the driver seat area. I climbed up on the drivers seat and found water on top of the left living room slide. It looked like the water entered just about mid slide.

Not having time to investagate the true reason, I fortunately had purchased a cover. I through it on to keep out any more water.

Hope you find your leak and wish me the best in finding and fixing mine when I get back.
