Just noticed this two weeks ago, and again this past weekend. We usually leave the water pump 'on' all weekend and carry our own water in the fresh water tank.
I've searched everywhere and cannot find any water leaks. About once an hour, I can hear the pump come on for about 1 or 2 seconds.
-Since I can't find evidence of a leak, it is possible that my OEM Shurflo pump is getting a worn impeller (or diaphragm?) and is letting water presssure slip gradually back through the pump and into the fresh water tank?

If you have an icemaker, it could be refilling the tray but once every hour seems like a lot. If this turns out to be the reason it "burps" let me know what fridg and ice maker you have. Sounds like a goodern.

Naw, no ice maker. Yes, I think it could be the pump check valve. I've got the Shurflo "classic", 2.5 gpm standard pump. Nothing special here.
I'm gonna call Shurflo to see if I can get a new check valve or service kit. Will keep you posted.
