i have a 2006 itasca 39k, catepillar 350HP. on numerous occasions, i have heard comments about making sure the water pump pulley is greased.
do i have to remove the bed to get to the pulley? is there really a zert fitting for this purpose? sure wish it could be done from under the coach.

If you have a C7 Cat you do not have a grease fitting on the fan bearing. Cat went to sealed bearings at the end of the run of 3126E engines. Never heard about a water pump grease fitting.

The 3126 Cats had a fitting pointing straight up on the hub, you have to remove a wooden floor panel in the closet to get access to a metal panel with bolts to get to the hub. The newer models have no grease fitting and have been known to have failures due to no fitting. According to Cat the old hub with the fitting can be installed on the newer engines.
