Wheel Cleaning on a 04 Adventurer

Looking for ideas and products to clean up our wheels on our 2004 Adventurer.

I have used car wash and water. I think they could use a little more.

I have used a product called Mother's Wheel Cleaner. Been pretty happy with it.

You might want to take a look at my post about "Polishing" wheels. It's a couple of days old so, it shouldn't be hard to find. Anyway, I'm assuming you have aluminum wheels but, you didn't say. But, if you do, you must determine if, they've got a "clear coat" on them. If they do, all you'll be able to do is wash them with soap and water and that's about it.

If, they are not clear coated, then, depending on the general condition, or, how "oxidised" they are, you'll be able to use many different types of metal or aluminum polish to bring out the luster in them. It depends on a couple of things here. One, what do you want them to look like when you're done, and how much work you want to put into the looks.

Lots of products out there to choose from so, decide on what finish you want.

P.S. If they're stainless steel covers, they too can be polished but, it take a while.

I have wheel covers, maybe made from some kind of stainless?

lf that's your coach in your pictures, you have stainless covers. Most of the time they come pretty shiny from the factory but, if you've let them go for quite some time and or you just picked up this rig, then they'll clean up but, making them shine like a mirror, will take a machine buffing and compound. But, once they're all shiny, and you wipe them off about 1-2 times a month, they'll stay that way for a long time.

To get those to really shine by hand is not something I'd wish on even a non-friend. Stainless can turn into a mirror, but it takes a machine to do it. There are places around the country that will buff them with a machine to a mirror finish but, it will cost. It's your call.
