The engine HVAC system on my diesel-powered Meridian is vacuum actuated. Since a diesel engine doesn't generate intake manifold vacuum like a gas engine, where does the vacuum come from?

There should be an electric vacuum pump somewhere.

This probably won't help much, but my wife is always telling me the vacuum is in the closet!

Now if I could just figure out how to operate that thing!!

That's bad, Bob

Tom is right about the pump but I don't know where ours is located - I think it is somewhere up forward under the 'hood.'

Rich,
As stated by John C the vaccum pump is up front behind the access pannel to the right of the generator. When you turn on your ignition key you will hear it initially run filling a vacuum reservoir/ball. It will periodically run as vacuum is gettting low when used switching heater/AC mode of operaion

Open the front compartment door above the generator. Look to your right about eye level. It is a rectangular looking object with rubber hoses coming out of it.

I recently learned from the local Winnie dealer that the plastic connection on the line above the vacuum pump is prone to breaking. When it breaks the pump runs often. Sure, enough mine was broken.

Across the top bar in the window where you are typing is a row of selections....The first one from the left is a smiley face.
When you click on it you will see the complete "directory" of available "smiley" items to choose from..

Now back to the show....
