Recently purchased a 2005 Meridian 36G and would like to change the OEM converter to a Progressive Dynamics. The game plan is to remove charging from the 2000 watt inverter and switch to a converter/charger combo. I just need to find the existing converter!!!

I have also installed a Tril-L-Start to keep chassis batteries charged. So far it is doing a good job.

Any help in locating the converter would be appreciated.

Gary D, I have an 05 Meridian 36G, there is no converter on my rig with the 2000 watt inverter charger. The batteries carry the load and the inverter charges the batteries.

I agree the triklstart is the trick to keep the engine battery topped off.

On my last motorhome, pace arrow, I removed the converter and installed an inverter charger to quiet things up and improve charging. Best thing I ever did with that RV.

Why do you want to change the charger?

Thanks gewilli. Well no wonder I have had a problem finding the converter!!

I have a Progressive Dynamics 60 amp converter/charger and I have been told that it is a better battery charger than the OEM one. I may have to rethink my game plan if this is not so.

Thanks.

Yes, it can be confusing, my brother has an inverter with NO charger, so he has a converter and we just installed the 60 amp with charge wizard, but your inverter charger should be far better than the converter charger with a much higher charge rate and a controlable charge rate(you can limit the charge rate if you only have a 15 amp plug in for instance.

Take care.
