On our way back from GNR we started getting a loud wind noise coming from around the window above the drivers door. When we stopped for fuel I noticed that the bottom gasket was hanging out so I taped up the bottom of the window so I would not lose the gasket. When we stopped in Branson I had a chance to closely inspect the window and now I see that the bottom of the glass has seperated from the frame. Looks like the butal tape has failed. Wish it would have happened on the way to GNR so I could have had Winnebago fix it. Called Atwood and they are sending the materials to fix the window. Now I have been keeping an eye on the window between the door and windshield as it is the same construction. My question is this a common problem? How hard is it going to be to put the glass back in? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

ROMAD, Indeed! If stuff could only fail when you're in the right place! Bad News is that I don't think there's a Winnie place in Branson BUT if you go N. to Springfield there's one there right off the 65 highway.

It doesn't sound like a Winnie specific issue. I would recommend Branson RV on S-165 near the Branson Belle location. They are a service shop and also do mobile repairs. Around 2006 or 2007 they quickly diagnosed and fixed my basement air in their shop (after a large Winnie dealer charged me big bucks and failed to fix it), and did a mobile repair on my refrigerator. When they had to order the control board, the wired around the bad board so the fridge would work for the few days it took for the board to come in ...sharp guys, great service, and reasonable prices.

The same thing happened to me two weeks ago. Same window and same symptoms on an 07 Winnebago Adventurer.

Called Atwood and they sent me the butyl tape (weldment) and trim to repair it. I took the window out but it was more like it nearly fell out. Seems the butyl tape on the bottom of the frame dried up and released the glass. I cleaned up all of the old tape, a very messy job, put the new tape in and installed the glass. All I had to do was tap with the side of my hand to get the glass to stick. I also filled in the gap between the glass and frame with a little RTV to give it a better hold. Will install the trim tomorrow after everything is set. All in all it wasn't too bad a job.
