Windshield MCD Shades don't stay in their tracks

Anyone else have the problem with the MCD shades not staying in the metal channels on the sides of the windshield. It seems that the metal rods that slide out on each side and extend into the channel slide back together and then the shades fall out of the channel. There are two rods in each shade and they need something to hold them together so that one half to one inch of one rod extends out on the left and the same with the other rod for the right side. The dealer slid them out and the shades tracked for 2-3 uses, I slid them out and had the same result. Seems there should be some sort of clamp, tape, shrink tubing, whatever to hold the rods together once they are sized correctly. Anyone resolve this satisfactorily?
One other question: Anyone know what's behind the panel on the right side of the bathroom vanity. The space under the sink is very small and there appears to be a lot of space to the right, toward the shower enclosure. Doesn't seem like there would be plumbing behind there but who knows. I'd like to open it up for more bathroom storage if possible.
Thanks for the help.

We had MCD install Power windshield shades in our 2012 Vista 1 1/2 years ago. Haven't had a problem. There is no "sliding rod" on our installation. Our "track" is a heavy (1/4") plastic.

There should be a plastic end cap on each side of the bottom rod that keep the windshield shades in the track......
.....but, like a lot of things in a motorhome, they can, and do fall off.

Bill, because each coach may be manufactured a little bit differently, and because Winnebago orders multiple shades of the exact same size, sometimes the shades are a little too short. Your fabric should be captured in the channels in the A-pillars, giving you full side-to-side coverage. The rods are for stability only, not as the guide in the A-pillar channels. Your two rods should be the same length and should be hidden in the fabric. You may want to just use a dot of super glue to hold them in place in the vinyl to keep them from sliding one way or the other. Now, regarding the A-pillars. You will want to kick them out from the wall slightly so they capture the fabric in the channel. You can probably unscrew them from the wall and add a spacer behind them. We often use a pvc board when we are modifying A-pillars in an aftermarket installation. If you would like to speak with a tech about this, please call MCD at 800-804-1757. I hope this helps you.
